For close teams

Month-end on Dynamics GP, without the spreadsheet of spreadsheets. Ledger Doctor knows what GP's numbers should be, so much of the close checks itself and the rest is assigned, done, reviewed and filed in one place.

What the close looks like

A checklist that checks itself

Month, quarter and year-end steps that complete themselves when GP comes back clean: batches posted, subledgers tied to the GL, depreciation run, periods closed. Your own steps sit alongside, each with an owner, a due date and an email when it's assigned.

Reconciliations and flux, signed off

Every balance sheet account reconciled by a preparer and reviewed by someone else. AP, AR and Fixed Assets prepare themselves from the subledger. Accounts that moved past your threshold get a first draft explanation from the GL detail.

The bank, to the cent

Upload the bank statement and its lines are matched to GP's checkbook: by check number, by amount within a few days, and deposits made together. What's left is yours to match by hand, and the reconciliation is proved against GP's book balance.

Schedules built for you

Prepaids spread over months and accruals that reverse the next day, built each month as one unposted GP batch that someone reviews and posts. Ledger Doctor never posts.

Intercompany that nets

Due-to and due-from across the GP companies on your server, compared each period and signed off, with the differences listed.

A binder at the end

Every task, reconciliation, review, attachment and tie-out for the period in one download, with who did what and when, ready for the auditor.

Done, and signed off

Each task shows who it's assigned to, when it's due and where it stands. Whoever completes it leaves a note, and an approver who didn't do the work marks it reviewed. Both names and times stay on the task and go into the close binder.

Work the close checklist

Close checklist tasks for the subledger close: three completed by Tina Nguyen, each with her note, two of them reviewed by the controller, Maria Lopez, and one waiting with a Mark reviewed button, then open tasks verified from GP or waiting for another task.
Completed tasks with the preparer's note and the controller's review. Sample data.

Everyone on the team, not just the GP expert

Each person gets a My work page with their tasks, what's due and plain-English findings for the companies they work in. Roles come from your Windows groups: Processors do the work, Approvers review it and approve fixes, and nobody reviews their own task.

What it costs

The Close plan is $4,800 a year for every GP company on one SQL Server and unlimited users. It includes everything in Essentials: the nightly checks, fixes and guides. Compare the plans.
