Add companies or change approvers

Ledger Doctor finds new GP companies on its own during each scan, but it needs read access to them. Granting access, choosing which companies to monitor, and changing the port, approvers or how email is sent all happen in setup, on the server.

About 45 seconds, narrated, with captions. Sample company, made-up data.

Run setup again

  1. Sign in to the server that runs Ledger Doctor.
  2. Double-click LedgerDoctor.Service.exe in C:\Program Files\Ledger Doctor, or in a newer download.
  3. Choose Update or change settings. Setup shows your current port, approvers and email setup.
  4. Sign in to SQL Server as a sysadmin again. Check the companies to monitor, including the new one, and uncheck any to stop monitoring.
  5. Change the approvers, the port or the email settings if you need to, and finish.

Your settings, history and close checklists are kept.

When a company can't be read

Ledger Doctor finds a GP company added after setup on its own, and says so on every page for a week. A company restored from another company's backup (a test copy, say) usually comes with Ledger Doctor's access, so it's checked straight away. If Ledger Doctor can't read the new company, a yellow message on every page says so, and it isn't being checked: run setup again as above, or have your DBA run ledgerdoctor_security.sql from the download's sql folder.
