The Email page is how Ledger Doctor Partner sends its emails. It's for admins. Each person chooses which emails they get in My preferences.
Send email through
- Microsoft 365: an app registration with the Mail.Send application permission (Microsoft is turning off passwords for SMTP). Enter its tenant ID, client ID and client secret.
- Mail server (SMTP): its name, port 587 with TLS, and a user and password if it asks for one.
- No email.
Send from is a real mailbox; a shared mailbox works. The password and client secret are kept encrypted and never shown again; leave the box empty to keep the one saved. Choose Save, then Send a test email.
What's sent
- The HTTPS certificate expires within 30 days (Admins).
- A customer asks to connect (Admins, and Approvers for that customer), with a link to accept or decline.
- Data you asked a customer for has arrived (whoever asked), with what changed in its counts.
- A new version was installed (Admins).
- A customer answered your blockers report (whoever sent it, or the customer's Approvers).
Each email comes in Ledger Doctor's colors, with a plain-text copy. Sent lately lists what went out.
When email isn't set up
With No email, or settings that aren't finished, nothing is sent. Customers and this page say so at the top: "Email isn't set up, so Ledger Doctor Partner's emails won't be sent". The actions that would email someone say so instead of only "done". For example, Ask for fresh data adds "Email isn't set up, so you won't get an email when the fresh data arrives", and sending a blockers report says you won't get an email when the customer answers. Each one is in Sent lately as not sent.
