Auditors send a list of what they need, often called the PBC ("provided by client") list. Controls > Auditor requests keeps that list in Ledger Doctor: who has each request, when it's due, the answer and its files, and what the auditor accepted. It's part of the Controls add-on. Nothing in GP changes.

Start a list

An approver chooses Start a list, names it (like "2026 year-end audit"), and gives the period end the audit covers and, if you like, the audit firm. The period end ties the list to that close: it goes in that close binder.

Bring in the auditor's requests

  • Import the auditor's spreadsheet: Excel (.xlsx) or CSV, one request a row. Ledger Doctor finds the heading row (titles above it are fine) and reads the columns by their headings: Request or Description, and, if they're there, Ref (or #), Category (or Area), Owner (or Assigned to) and Due date. An owner is kept when they're a Processor or Approver for the company; the import lists any it couldn't match, for you to assign.
  • Add a request by hand for anything the auditor asks for later.

An approver can change a request's wording, owner or due date from its details. Overdue requests show in red, and Only mine shows the requests you own.

Answer a request

  1. Open the request, attach the files the auditor asked for (PDF, Excel, Word, CSV, text or image, up to 10 MB each) and write the answer if one helps.
  2. Choose Mark provided. It needs at least a file or an answer.

What the auditor said

The auditor doesn't sign in to Ledger Doctor. When they reply, an approver records it on the request:

  • The auditor accepted it: closed. Its files can't change unless an approver reopens it.
  • Send back, with what the auditor still needs: open again, with the note shown to the owner.
  • Doesn't apply: closed without an answer.

Download for the auditor

Download for the auditor gives one zip: a workbook of every request (status, answer, the auditor's notes, who provided and who closed each one, and when) and each request's files in a folder named for it. Send it however your auditor prefers, or upload it to their portal.

When a list is finished, Archive this list hides it; Show archived lists brings it back.
