The daily email
Ledger Doctor can email a summary every morning at 6:30 AM, server time, after the nightly scan.
What's in it
- Every company by name, each with how many issues it has and how many of its close tasks are overdue or due soon, or "all clear". The GP system database's issues, which every company shares, are a line of their own.
- Each company's areas and their status, and the issues found.
- AP and AR differences with the GL that appeared or changed since the previous scan.
- Close tasks that need attention: overdue or at risk, with their due dates and assignees.
- A note when a new version of Ledger Doctor is available.
It links to the dashboard. It's built on your server and sent through your own mail.
Turn it on
- As an approver, open Settings.
- Under Daily email, pick Every day or Only when there are warnings or errors.
- Under Send to, enter the addresses, separated with semicolons.
- Choose Save, then Send a test email. If it doesn't work, the message says in plain words what to fix.
How it's sent
The line under the addresses says how Ledger Doctor sends email: through Microsoft 365, or through a mail server. That's set up in setup's Daily email report section, because the password or secret stays in the settings file on the server. To set it up or change it, run setup again on the server and choose Update or change settings. The install guide has the Microsoft 365 app registration steps.
Send it now
Approvers can choose Send email now under Background jobs on the Settings page.
