Backups

How old a GP database's last full backup can be before the Server area warns you: a warning (S03) after 26 hours, an error (S02) after 7 days and a critical error (S12) after 30 days, unless you change them. Each age has to be later than the one before. Every check also lists a database that has never had a full backup. The next scan uses the new ages.

Updates

Ledger Doctor downloads each new version itself and checks our signature. These settings decide when it installs one without anyone choosing Install update now.

  • Install new versions automatically, Between: each new version installs by itself in that window, in this server's time, 24-hour, like 01:00-05:00. A window can cross midnight, like 22:00-02:00.
  • Let my partner install updates: your implementation partner can tell this server to check for a new version and install it right away. They choose only when.

Either way it's only our signed version, checked on your server. Installing restarts Ledger Doctor for a few minutes; GP isn't touched. Each install is in the job log below and the security log. Choose Save. See Update Ledger Doctor.

Approvers turn Explain with AI on or off for everyone here. The section says exactly what's sent and how many explanations are left this month. See Explain with AI.

Background jobs

Ledger Doctor runs five jobs by itself. Each run is listed with when it started, its status and its result, and each has a button to run it now.

Times are the server's. A run that fails, because the mail server or our server can't be reached, say, is tried again at most once an hour. Installs of new versions are listed here too, including automatic ones and ones your partner asked for.

What isn't on this page

The port, the approvers, the GP companies, and how email is sent are set in setup on the server. See Add companies or change approvers.
