Status sharing and your data

Ledger Doctor runs on your server and reads GP from your SQL Server. Your financial data, vendors, customers, employees and transactions are never sent to us.

About 45 seconds, narrated, with captions. Sample company, made-up data.

What's always sent

  • Every few minutes: a heartbeat with a random install ID, the Ledger Doctor version, whether it can reach SQL Server, and your license key.
  • Once a day: a check for new check libraries and new versions.

Status sharing

Status sharing is on unless you turn it off. Once a day it sends a summary so we can see that your install is healthy and help sooner when it isn't:

  • How many checks passed or found problems in each area, and which checks found something, with how many.
  • The SQL Server and GP version numbers.
  • Close checklist progress counts.
  • The name you choose for the install.

It never includes amounts, account numbers, names or transaction details. Our server refuses any field outside that list.

Turn it off or rename it

As an approver, open Settings, uncheck Share a daily health status with Ledger Doctor support, and choose Save. Name Ledger Doctor support sees for this install is the label we see for it. Setup asks the same question when you install or update.
