Opening balance
The Opening balance tab builds the customer's opening balance entry for Sage Intacct from GP's balances at the start of the history that converts.
Before it can be built
Choose how much history converts on the Summary tab. That asks the customer's Ledger Doctor for GP's balances on the start date; the tab waits for them and says when they've arrived.
The entry
- Each line is one GP account, named in the memo, mapped to its Sage Intacct account and dimension values. The first lines are shown; the file has them all.
- Opening entry journal: the journal symbol on the import file, up to 4 characters. Your default is in Your defaults.
- Account for the earlier years' net income: where profit and loss before the start date goes, usually retained earnings.
- Every GP balance moves, and each entity's entry has to balance on its own.
Ledger Doctor's checks on the customer's server are listed with it. If something stops the entry, the tab lists what to resolve before there's an import file.
When you choose the fixed asset balances by asset as part of the opening entry, its file and its load also carry, for each fixed asset cost and accumulated depreciation account, a line taking the balance off and one line for each asset putting it back with the asset dimension (GLENTRY_ASSETID). They net to zero per account. The file and the load wait until those balances are ready (the assets linked, every amount tied to the penny).
Statistical opening balances
GP unit accounts hold quantities (square footage, headcount), not money, so they become Sage Intacct statistical accounts with their own entry in the statistical journal. That file follows Sage Intacct's statistical journal entry import.
Draft import file gives the entry now. Import from a frozen version (Plan versions).
